Sowdamini worked on human-wildlife conflict and terrestrial ecology in southern India before moving to Australia in 2016 to study a master’s degree in Marine and Antarctic science at UTAS. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at UTAS where she is modelling the impacts of stoichiometric changes in fish and food webs. She is interested in integrating land-sea interactions into ecosystem modelling.

Sowdamini is a passionate advocate for climate justice and highlighting indigenous perspectives in ecosystem management and conservation.
